These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your participation in any training, workshop, course, or program (“Training”) provided by Ubuntu Institute of Learning, a nonprofit organization (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By registering for or participating in our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.

1. Purpose of Services

We provide training, workshops, and related resources to support individuals, organizations, and communities in achieving their learning and capacity-building goals. All content is for educational purposes only and is not intended as legal, financial, or professional advice unless explicitly stated in writing.

2. Eligibility

Our Training may be open to individuals, organizations, or groups depending on the program’s target audience. Certain courses may have prerequisites or require specific qualifications, which will be clearly stated in the course description.

3. Registration & Payment

  • Registration is confirmed only after receipt of a completed registration form and payment (if applicable).
  • Some programs may be free; others may require tuition, fees, or materials costs, which will be disclosed in advance.
  • Payments must be made in the currency stated on the registration form and within the deadlines provided.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel registration at our discretion.

4. Cancellation & Refunds

  • Participant Cancellations: Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to [your email address]. Refunds, if applicable, will follow the policy stated in the course description.
  • Organizer Cancellations: If we cancel or reschedule a Training, participants may receive a full refund or transfer their registration to another session.
  • We are not responsible for any costs incurred by participants (e.g., travel, accommodation) in the event of cancellation.

5. Code of Conduct

We are committed to creating a respectful, inclusive learning environment. All participants are expected to:
  • Treat others with respect and professionalism.
  • Avoid discriminatory, harassing, or disruptive behavior.
  • Follow the instructions of trainers and facilitators.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of any sensitive information shared during the Training.
Failure to comply may result in removal from the Training without refund.

6. Intellectual Property

  • All materials provided during Training (slides, workbooks, recordings, handouts, etc.) are the property of Ubuntu Institute of Learning or its licensors, unless otherwise noted.
  • Materials are provided for personal or organizational use only and may not be reproduced, distributed, or sold without our written permission.

7. Confidentiality & Privacy

  • We will collect and use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • Participants are prohibited from sharing personal or confidential information of others without consent.

8. Technology Requirements (for online training)

  • Participants are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary equipment, software, and internet connection.
  • We are not responsible for technical issues arising from the participant’s equipment or connection.

9. Liability Disclaimer

  • Participation is at your own risk.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your participation in our Training.

10. Photography & Recording

  • Training sessions may be recorded or photographed for documentation, reporting, or promotional purposes.
  • By participating, you consent to your likeness being used unless you opt out in writing before the Training begins.

11. Amendments

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The most current version will always be posted on our website or provided upon request.
